Asok says the obvious, while Dilbert is very passive.

Wally is good at playing along, isn't he?

I swear I saw this comic just the other day. I think Scott had it on his Time Line and others were mocking it or giving examples other than the rubber duck. PHB is a good foil when it comes to making analogies become absurd.

Surely everything that was said about the robot will now be recycled with Randy.

People will exploit you if you let them. Work friends aren't real friends and you should only expect them to be there for you while at work. You can be friends with coworkers, but you see them outside of work regularly when the feeling is mutually beneficial. Driving someone to the airport is the exact reason Uber exists.

I, personally, have concluded the best way to stay busy is to do things on your own terms so too much isn't expected from you.

More robot humor... perhaps the robot is a metaphor for undocumented immigrants? Just kidding, the robots are here and will soon bury us all.

Good question. Does anyone really care? What ever happened to that head ransplant guy?

I remember when Scott got the idea for this Sunday strip. Doesn't seem like it's been a month or 2 since that coffee session, but then again, time is funny to me.
Scott instantly laughed when he saw the avoiding people in the office comment. I think everyone has that feeling of dread when certain co-workers come to mind.
I use the term "time bandit" for people that stop you and talk inanely without respect to your need to be doing stuff other than shooting the breeze.

If Wally were a former CIA programmer, he'd say the same thing with a wink and a nod, right? Then again, I think he'd say it anyway and not care if anyone believed he listened, not that he'd listen in the first place... unless coffee was involved.

May 4th means something to me. Used to be all about Kent State, now it's mostly about Star Wars, but I mostly recall fondly a night I kept a bar open past closing only to see my Pens lose in 5OT.
Anyways, I find it odd that anyone of any background would take a job offered by PHB. So new hire Erik, former CIA programmer, is a very unexpected hire. He's creepy, just as one would suspect.

I often wonder what life was really like before mobile phones. Tina is losing her grip without hers. I remember being afraid to leave the house because I might miss a phone call from a prospective employer. My paranoia essentially turned into a form of anxiety disorder with agoraphobia.
Regardless, Tina's broken phone problem is dull.

Germs. Phones have a lot of germs. Phones are also very valuable windows into the owner's personal interests and such. One should never feel comfortable enough to allow someone to borrow his phone, especially in an office were landlines surely exist or even voip.
Scott, you are missing the obvious problems with the phone sharing scenario thus far, though Dilbert mocking Tina's anti-phone case stance when she broke her phone due to aesthetics...

Germs are everywhere... especially of phones that have been used on the toilet.
I am reminded of the phone sanitizers from a certain book by another fellow named Adams. Or I could be 42 degrees wrong in my thinking.
